About Terry P. Bradley, Ed.D.

Dr. Terry P. Bradley
Dr. Bradley was Clovis Unified’s fifth Superintendent, retiring from his position in 2009. After joining Clovis Unified in 1976 as the district’s business administrator, he put his financial talents to work for students, finding ways to do the most with every dollar. Dr. Bradley spent the next 34 years in Clovis Unified serving the district as an Assistant Superintendent, Associate Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent of Administrative Services and then Superintendent from 2002 to 2009.

With his passion for numbers and budgets, Dr. Bradley’s love for Clovis Unified was exemplified through his tireless work behind the scenes to bring the educational vision of CUSD’s founding Superintendent Floyd "Doc" Buchanan, Ed.D., to life. While everyone knows that Doc Buchanan crafted a vision for education that CUSD students and families benefit from today, fewer know just how much of Doc Buchanan’s vision was able to be accomplished because of Dr. Bradley’s expertise in navigating California’s school funding model.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Bradley leaned into his role and became one of the most influential school finance experts at the state and national level. Whether through his work to impact the state’s early funding model or through his insights on the state’s facilities program, Dr. Bradley was always looking out for Clovis Unified students and employees. His endeavors helped to make sure that Clovis Unified became the benchmark of education in America and that Clovis Unified students had world class opportunities at their fingertips.

Dr. Bradley was instrumental in state organizations like CASH, CASBO, School Services, and FCMAT, organizations that still influence public educational policy today. Holding numerous leadership positions in these organizations, Dr. Bradley continues to impact school districts through his work helping to establish a mentoring program for school Chief Business Officers, providing development opportunities to school personnel statewide.

Dr. Bradley is and continues to remain an important figure to Clovis Unified and provides on-going mentorship and guidance to ensure a bright future for the district.
